Live Today: The HBR Guide to Crafting Your Purpose

Thanks for your support launching my new book!

Friends,

My new book, the HBR Guide to Crafting Your Purpose, launches today! I’ve been working on the book since 2019, motivated by the idea that so many of us (myself included) would be enriched by building greater purpose into our work and lives. I believe we hold fundamental misconceptions that make achieving purpose more difficult. The book offers thoughts on how to break down those misconceptions and craft greater personal and professional purpose into all you do.

I have three big favors to ask of all of you:

(1) Consider buying the book: It’s at HBR, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, Indiebound, Bookshop, Books-a-Million, Indigo, Hudson Booksellers, and others. There’s also a great audio version available on Audible.

(2) Write a review: This is HUGE for helping people find it, and the two most important sites are Amazon and Goodreads. Amazon reviews open today for those who already have a copy, and a rating and a single sentence would be deeply appreciated.

(3) Write a short post on social media and post a selfie with the book: If you’re feeling really motivated, post on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or your favorite social media site about the book launch. The best publicity these days is to share a selfie of you with the book when you receive it!

A great first week can be very helpful to getting a book noticed. My goal in writing the Guide is to help others, and I’m so humbled to have this platform and hopeful the book can encourage at least a few people in their pursuit of greater meaning. I’m grateful to all of you for your help, your friendship, and your readership.

I’ll conclude with an absolutely shameless picture of my four very cute kids who give the Guide eight thumbs up…
